TDE artist Kendrick Lamar had a helluva 2015. His sophomore album, To Pimp A Butterfly, was both a critic and commercial hit that landed Lamar 9 Grammy nomination.

That’s great considering he had a hard time keeping Future fans interested in his live performances this summer.

But his legion of fans continues to grow.

Recently, Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon and chef Ashley Christensen were invited to take part in apparel company Billy Reid’s Fan Club series. Among the topics that came up during their sit-down was Kendrick Lamar. During his time, Vernon found time to praise the Compton rapper when asked about who he would ask to cook for him and who he’d want to eat with.

Christensen was named the chef he would want to cook the meal and K-Dot would be who he would want to eat with.

If I had to pick one chef, I WOULD pick YOU and then I would pick Kendrick Lamar. I’d want him — he’s the most important musician alive today, in my opinion — to taste the food I’ve tasted of yours and for you two to speak about the struggles of your cities and how culture and expression and hard work can heal basically anything.

Read their full interview here  Since we’re on the topic of Kendrick, have you seen his new visual, “God Is a Gangster” yet?
