The campus of Austin Peay in Tenesse is on lockdown today after gunshots near the school injured five.
Per National Monitor
According to a Fox News report, Clarksville Police spokeswoman Natalie Hall said that police responded to reports of gunfire at around 9 p.m. about two blocks east of the campus of the university in an area that is not believed to be officially connected to the school.
Four of the five who were wounded had “serious” injuries, and two people were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville by hospital, and apparently the helicopters used sports fields owned by the university to land. The other two were taken to a local hospital, and there was no information on the fifth victim.
Police are still investigating the shooting and don’t have any suspects yet. A campus-wide safety alert had been issued shortly after the shootings, although the university told students there didn’t appear to be any immediately present danger.
