In honor of Bob Marley & The Wailers 30th anniversary of their compilation LEGEND, Universal plans on reissuing the CD.
The Definitive Remastered edition includes a tri-colour double 180g vinyl set and a CD/Blu-ray 5.1 audio set. The Blu-ray disc contains the studio version of “No Woman, No Cry” and previously unheard versions of “Easy Skanking” and “Punky Reggae Party.”
Legend was first released by Island Records on vinyl in 1984, three years after Marley died from cancer at age 36.
Songs like “Waiting In Vain,” “Three Little Birds,” “One Love” and “No Woman, No Cry” have made the album one of the best sellers in pop music alongside British band Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of The Moon. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Legend has sold over 25 million units worldwide.
The Universal Music Group (which owns the Island catalogue) released a two-disc deluxe version in 2002, complete with remastered and remixed versions of the original tracks on the 1984 set.
