Feminist. Depending on who says it and how, the word can incite a lot of emotions from both men and women. Very few have found a way to wear their feminist ways on the sleeve and still come off cool.
Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is already cooler than most feminist. Her TED TED talk “We Should All Be Feminists” was sampled by Beyonce.
That’s not all. A film based on her novel Half of a Yellow Sun will be out this summer. She added another acclaim when her novel Americanah won the prestigious National Book Critics Circle award.
With all the awards and praise being heaped on her, she still feels like it’s no big deal. Adichie reacently spoke to NPR about Beyonce, being fashionable, Lupita Nyongo and more.
