Last night during the Grammy awards, a tribute to entertainers and those in the entertainment industry who passed away the previous year was held. One of those lost lives who were mentioned during the tribute was Glee star Cory Monteith.
As the Grammys paid tribute to stars lost in 2013, a photo of the late Glee star appeared, with the accompanying wording reading: “Cory Montieth, Glee actor, singer.”
And Glee fans are none too pleased about the error.
One fan tweeted : “Dear Recording Academy, it’s 2014 & no one has spell check? His name is Cory MONTEITH!!! Fire the fact check clerk!”
Another wrote, “They misspelled Cory Monteith’s last name. Proofreading is a lost art. And in this case, a loss of respect too. #GRAMMYs”
And one fan tweeted that the gaffe was “like a stab in the heart all over again.”
Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on Fox’s hit musical series, died in July 2013 of a drug and alcohol overdose. He was 31.
